Critter Clues

I am one of the earliest insects to come out in spring.

I am black and yellow, and sometimes white and rust color.

My round body is covered in soft hair.

I spread powdery yellow pollen from one plant to another. This is needed for fruit like tomatoes to grow.

I live in groups as small as 20 and as large as 1,700!

My groups are ruled by a queen. Workers collect our food.
