It’s National anImal Shelter
apprecIation Week!
Animal shelters and rescue groups care for pets without homes.
They find families for them. Families can help shelters and rescue
groups by giving money or supplies they need, like old towels. They
can also give their time. People who do work without being paid
are called volunteers. Some volunteers care for very young or sick
pets in their homes. Other people can then adopt, or take in the
pet as part of their family.
