Critter Clues

I am a reptile with a scaly back. I can be many different colors, including green, yellow, orange, or even pink!

I have great eyesight — I use my eyes to find food, move through forests, and communicate with others of my species!

I use camouflage — blending into my surroundings — to protect myself.

My parietal eye, the small sensor on top of my head, helps me detect predators above me..

When I’m in danger, I use my tail to defend myself, and I can even detach it from my body to help me get away!

Depending on my species, I can live in many different habitats, like swamps, deserts and rainforests.
