TO THE RESCUE

At a park, visitors saw a brown duck who could not
hold his head up. They called Lollypop Farm in New

York. Workers took him back to the farm. They set up
a small pool for "Quackers" with vegetables to eat.

They gave him a bath. That’s when they saw that
Quackers was a Pekin duck, a white duck kept on

farms. “He had been covered in dirt!” says farm
manager Mary Miller. He was most likely left in the

park, and could not find food.

After a week at Lollypop Farm, Quackers could hold COVER: DEMIBOMBE/SHUTTERSTOCK. THIS PAGE: LOLLYPOP FARM.

his head again, says Miller. “He liked to follow people
around and quack.” He made friends with three other

ducks. They found a home together!
